'A L I E N' Prequel Has A Director

The Alien franchise is getting ready to add yet another film to its long dormant set of films. As Variety reported, this time around it will be a prequel to the original 1979 film. Ridley Scott directed such film and now he is ready to return as the director for his film's prequel. 20th Century Fox has hired Jon Spaihts to pen the movie and Mr. Scott to direct while Scott free will be in charge of producing. Preceding the first installment of the Alien franchise, while the crew of a commercial towing ship is on its way back to Earth, they are sent in to check out a distress signal from a nearby planetoid. It's too late for the crew when they realize that the signal being generated by an empty ship was meant to be a warning.
